Mission Statement

The German International School Dallas seeks to provide a high quality, balanced educational program in English and German for children of internationally-minded families. We offer a dynamic environment where each student is challenged and supported to become a dedicated learner for life and a contributing member of the local and global community.

Objectives

1. To offer an education that will facilitate a student's transfer between international or national systems.
   

2. To offer a curriculum which will give the opportunity to gain internationally recognized qualifications.
   

3. To provide a range of activities that are personally, intellectually, academically, physically, socially and ethically stimulating and challenging.
   

4. To foster in every individual a sense that s/he is a valuable member of the community.
   

5. To promote good communication skills in several world languages, as well as the languages of science, mathematics, technology and the arts.
   

6. To offer instruction by a multicultural faculty, who are experienced in a variety of educational traditions, and maintain a continuous awareness of current developments in the world of education.
   

7. To strive to identify and respond to students' differing styles of learning.
   

8. To value and respect the cultural identity of every individual in the school community, and to offer a curriculum which is relevant to a culturally diverse student population.

General Information

The German International School is a bilingual school enrolling students from age 2 to grade two. The school‘s founders included members of the expatriate community in Dallas, interested public and educational officials, and International business persons, all of whom believed that the Dallas / Fort Worth required an international school in order to develop its potential as a cultural and commercial centre. The school is operated by a 501(C)3 non profit, incorporated in Texas.  Operational and policy matters are addressed by the schools Chief Operating Officer & School Board.
