The German International School Dallas seeks to provide a high quality, balanced educational program in English and German for children of internationally-minded families. What’s up?


It had been our initial plan to open the German International School with the beginning of the

fall term 2008. As everyone is aware, we were not able to uphold this schedule.

We have been working very hard in the past year to


  1. Bulletgauge the interest in such a school within the extended German community,

  2. Bulletprocure a facility convenient in location for all,

  3. Bulletand establish a realistic budget that would permit us to open the school and guarantee a reliable structure.


What we have not achieved is the enrollment of the minimum number of children to make the first year operation of such a school realistic.


We need 15 children!


We also need your support and help! We are tentatively targeting spring 2009 as the next date to open the school. In order to turn this date into a reality we will be working hard to reach that goal of having at least 15 children enrolled.

During the course of the next 4 month we will be organizing various extracurricular activities for the german community in Dallas/Fort Worth such as last weeks BBQ and playground meet. If you are interested in finding out more or meeting us in person, we will be at the Oktoberfest in Addison this weekend. Just look for the people wearing a t-shirt asking you to inquire about the GISD. We’ll be glad to tell you more. If you can’t make it to the Oktoberfest, maybe you and your children would like to join us to craft lanterns for St. Martin in October. We look forward to seeing you whenever and wherever your interest in this project comes alive.


If there is anything that comes off of this, than it should be the creation of a vibrant and active German community in the heart of Texas and a large pool of friends for both the parents and children.
